CMFR has kept a database of journalists killed in the line of duty since 1986. This interactive map contains information on the number of journalists killed in areas in the Philippines, the profiles of the journalists killed, the demographics and related information, including the status of cases in the courts.
The Maps project is generally a Google Maps API and ChartJS integration. The solutions team was tasked to create a custom web app to allow users to generate google maps with custom filters by different categories that specifies map pins containing location and details of a certain person that was killed based on the criterias set. The web app also contains an admin control panel to allow the clients to manage (Add, update, delete) data for the web app. The app also features animated charts for overall or categorized data as statistics.
